Marketing - Marketing / Market Research
German term or phrase: optischer Auftritt, Erscheinungsbild
Both terms occur in the context of a news item concerning a new corporate (airline) identity, logo, lettering --including on planes -- etc. The emphasis is more on the graphic aspects than on the strategic and business image aspects, such as positioning.

look / visual appearance
Explanation:
Visual is certainly preferable over optical as the later is technically oriented.

visualization - visual presence - look - graphic image - optics - visual design

Explanation:
I fought this battle with a customer in October - November about a new beer bottle and since then they they seem quite satisfied with such terms. For me they are interchangeable and hogwash! Maybe you can dream up other combinations.

Corporate design

Explanation:
For an entire company, corporate design seems to be the new phrase, replacing corporate identity.

New image might also fit your context.

Visual appearance, as some have pointed out (here and in Flefo) is a bit redundant., but certainly counts as "the way people really talk," which is an important element in building credibility.
