German to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Marketing / Market Research
German term or phrase: mit gelifteten Objekten
Auch noch so gute Marktforschung vermag eben nicht vor einer Überbesetzung vermeintlicher Marktnischen zu schützen - jedenfalls dann nicht, wenn in allen Medienhäusern etwa zeitgleich dieselben Marktnischen identifiziert werden und die Verlage alle - wie die Lemminge - mit "gelifteten" oder neu entwickelten Objekten diese Nischen besetzen.

I need to find a good equivalent for this in English that more than likely will not include the "Lemminge".

Explanation:
... and publishers rush in (like lemmings) to occupy these niches with "re-hashed" or newly developed publications/titles ...

the tone depends on the target audience ... if you don't like lemmings, then "publishers greedily rush in" ... should be ok too

agree  Charles Stanford: I go along with that - the lifting is in the sense of what you do to your chest rather than plagiarised!! Perhaps rehashed isn't quite the right word but it is better than anything I can think of - perhaps "souped up"

agree  gangels: perhaps 'refurbished', 'recreated' 'rescued from oblivion', 're-edited', 'rejiggered'
