German term or phrase: auftrumpfen
From a report about the recovery of a company's sales after passing through the economic crisis without firing workers. The CEO says "Wir können jetzt mit erfahrenen Mitarbeiter auf dem wieder anziehenden Markt *auftrumpfen".*
(PS I have checked glossaries and dictionaries) but can't think of a fit equivalent in English.)

to go strong

Explanation:
It is not really an especially Swis term. But it is used very often in a way that it means that someone wants to show off his/her own strength and superiority and predominance, so WAHRIG, Deutsches Wort.

'boast, brag, exaggerate about oneself' are not giving the same register!

stand tall in / dominate the market

Explanation:
Stand tall in the market. An attempt to find something that is not too aggressive. Or 'stand head and shoulders above the competition' in a more long-winded version. Or 'dominate the market', if aggression is what is needed.

flourish our trump card

Explanation:
This may require a slightly freer translation of the first part of the sentence but has the virtue that it conveys some of the imagery of the original German. There is certainly a "showing off" element which needs to be captured somehow.
