The Duden defines this as "alle von einem Punkt ausgehenden Geraden." I am looking for a geometry word to describe a group of lines in the shape of an asterisk.

It's an 'English' expression but as many other scientific/mathematical concepts, it may have been 'imported' from German-speaking countries.

Notes to answerer
Asker: The book you cite is a translation from German. It looks like "Strahlenbündel" has been rendered literally. Is there an "English" way of saying this?

Asker: Thanks. But the dictionary Metzger cites also offers the term "pencil of rays."

agree  Jumplanguage: Leo agrees on "bundle of rays". Since it cannot be a "beam of rays" it seems exactly that.
