German term or phrase: Markiervariable
Is there an English term for "Markiervariable" in the context of principal component analysis? I can't seem to find it. The term is used here for variables with a high factor loading. Context like this:

"Drei davon mit einer Faktorladung von xyz sollen als so genannte Markiervariablen näher beschrieben werden"

Thank you!

Explanation:
Statistik ist zwar nicht mein Fachgebiet, aber für "marker variables" gibt es in diesem Zusammenhang einige Belege:

http://homepages.gold.ac.uk/aphome/lec7ohp.doc
"Solutions with several high loading marker variables may be OK with smaller N" (S. 3)

http://epublications.bond.edu.au/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article... (S. 25)

http://pubmedcentralcanada.ca/articlerender.cgi?artid=49368
"According to Tabachnick and Fidell [21] sample sizes of 150 should be sufficient when solutions show several high loading marker variables (>.80)."
