Eine Erhöhung des Informationsniveaus führt zu einer Stauchung und keiner Verschiebung der Verteilung und hat folglich keinen Einfluss auf den Erwartungswert

From an academic document dealing with statistical distribution in area of raw materials supply. My attempt is as follows:
An increased level of information results in the distribution shrinking but not shifting, and hence it has no influence on the expected value

Is my terminology of 'shrinking' for Stauchung and 'shifting' for Verschiebung correct in the area of statistics, and does my sentence actually make sense??
