is what this looks like to me, although I'm not too sure of my ground. I am not convinced one would weld a spring washer to the baseplate of your machine, but anything's possible...
By the way, what is it "profiling"?

I wonder actually if it is better described as a \"locking ring\", if it\'s intended to hold the machinery both level and in place, as it seems to be part of the adjusting device.
