German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / Railways
German term or phrase:unterbunden
Bei zu hoher Motortemperatur Querhubantriebe wird das Fahren aller Transportantriebe Schiebebühne im Wartungsbetrieb unterbunden und
das quer Fahren der Schiebebühne im manuellen (halbautomatischen) Betrieb unterbunden.
How would one explain that in this RAILWAYS text? Thanks so much in advance!
Does indeed look like the author is still wrestling with some of the finer points of the spelling reform. Could also be that the source has been machine translated from some other language and poorly edited.
@roak: A Freudian slip. Of course it was supposed to be prE.. but I was still under the mind-numbing influence of "quer Fahren" ... come to think of it, could this be the Neu-speak of the Rechtschreibreform? Maybe the colleagues could comment on this...
@SinnerAtta: Did you mean to say prOposition?? Or was it supposed to be prEposition??
Right! the text is wierdly formulated and I merely copied and pasted it there. The German at several places is crude and we need to make sense out of it.
