German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / radiator repairs | | German term or phrase: Touchierbild | Pretty technical translation about a radiator. Terms used elsewhere are "Düsenkronen", "Heizmanschette" and "Schnorkel".
Having found some background information on Leo, I am undertanding it as "check the appearance of the Titan ring after blue has been applied" (the term "blue" is used in New Zealand but I'm translating into UK English). It seems that, with cogwheels, stuff is painted on and if it comes off, the cogs are engaging. This is a similar use of the process, I presume. No one seems to be able to find an English description. Here's the German context:
- Nach Montage der Titanringe, diese nochmals herausschrauben und evtl. entstandenen Grat, mittels Messingspitze entfernen. Anschließend Touchierbild überprüfen. |

Geht es hier um das Berühren (toucher) oder um die 'verdeutschte' Version Tuschierbild (auch Blaubild genannt), also die Färbung. Da diese Färbung der Kontaktflächen besonders bei der Tragbildbewertung von Zahnrädern eingesetzt wird, könnte man parallel auf Übersetzungen wie
