German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / Hydraulics
German term or phrase: Flüssigkeitsstromverbraucher
Die Flüssigkeitsstromverbraucher wandeln die hydraulische Leistung in mechanische Antriebsleistung um.
z.B. Hydromotor
Ein Flüssigkeitsstromerzeuger ist z.B. die Pumpe.

This is a description of a hydraulic system.

Is strom here flow or current? A stromverbraucher is an electricity or current consumer - but how does that fit with Flüssigkeit?

Thanks
WML

English translation:Fluid flow actuator
Explanation:
I have a rather old hydraulics dictionary which gives "actuator" as an option for "Verbraucher". It may be suitable here.

hydraulic consumer

Explanation:
Der Term lautet Flüssigkeitsstrom-Verbraucher, nicht Flüssigkeits-Stromverbraucher.

Ich traue meiner Übersetzung nicht recht, dazu können andere sicher noch was sagen. Immerhin taucht sie aber in entsprechenden Zusammenhängen auf.

agree  hazmatgerman: Though I would use liquid flow consumer, yours probably captures it.

fluid or liquid flow load

Explanation:
In this case since you are talking about a pumping system, strom is translated as flow and not as current.

disagree  Cilian O'Tuama: "but the most frequent looks beeing „fluid consumer“" is pretty dreadful English - // some of the references are sowas von irrelevant that the others cannot be taken seriously. /// We obviously have different ideas of what helpful is.
