German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / test benches
German term or phrase: Verspanngetriebe, Verspannkreis
Context is a test bench for axles. Unfortunately the term is just part of a list in a manual, so there is no other contextual information. Thanks for any help.

I think David may be right. This kind of transmission does exist: http://www.vogel-buchverlag.de/downloads/288_1904stich.pdf (Mechatronic 2): here it's one of the listed keywords. I suspect it's a kind of geared mechanism to test strain on the specimen. Perhaps I'm lucky and someone has a copy of Mechatronic 2 ... Thanks for your help so far though.

disagree  David Moore: I think you may have misread the posting for "VORspann..."...or do you think it may be a typo?
