German to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical: Cardiology / Surgery Protocol
German term or phrase: OPID
This is listed on the surgery protocol, along with other information, such as surgery room, case number, etc.
The abbreviation is followed by some information, which I don't have access to, might be a number, etc.

I am thinking that this might be the surgery identification number, but I am not sure.

Has anyone come across this before? Any ideas will be appreciated!

Reference: OperationID

Reference information:
I just stumbled upon this one accidentally and thought I'll post it as a reference, just in case. Though the letters of the abbreviation match and the context is indeed related to surgery, I am not at all sure if this even deserves to posted as a guess answer.

The Patient ID (PatID) field is the foreign key field linking this table to the Demographics table. The OperationID field is the primary key for each operation record linking it to the Risk_Factors, Diagnosis, Procedures, and Complications tables.

Found this a while later:

This will be done by focusing sales efforts on physicians who can increase referrals to the Outpatient Imaging Division (OPID)

"Outpatient Imaging Division (OPID)" does get a fair number of googles, but if, as you say, "the abbreviation is followed by some information, which...might be a number," then this is a poor fit.

agree  Marga Shaw: I agree with "Operation ID". However, there is no indication that it could be "Outpatient Imaging Division (OPID)".
