German to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical: Cardiology
German term or phrase:mit einer VDD von ca. 30mmHg
In German medical report, patient suffered transient ischemic attack (TIA). In echocardiography section:
"Pericarderguss an der Hinterwand mit ca. 4mm, diskrete Belastungszeichen mit einer VDD von ca. 30mmHg, dopplersonographisch eine TE II.°, AE I.° Grades und ME I.-II. Grades..."
In this context, does anyone know what "VDD" means? I looked in Becker's abbreviation list and am not sure any one there apply.
Explanation: Would make sense in the context of ventricular strain (incipient heart failure).
LVEDP usually in English.
Do wait for MD confirmation though :-)

Belastung = volume overload rather than strain in fact - and is consistent with the valvular abnormalities - I believe they are regurgitations too (I for Insufficienz rather than E)
I think your suggestion is the best, based on your own information and peer agreements. I left a translator's note though, indicating I was not 100% sure.

Thanks to everyone for information, especially to uyuni for your analysis. I am not expert enough to judge on my own. I translated as (left) ventricular (end) diastolic pressure, but I left a translator's note indicating I was not 100% sure.
It´s not that I didn´t still have some work to do, but I somehow carried this question with me for days:
An LVEDP of 30 mmHg would not indicate slight (*leichte*) signs of left ventricular strain but reflects a serious finding. Furthermore it is a parameter usually obtained by cardiac catheterization rather than by echocardiography. Moreover, it would not be female (*eine* VDD) in German but masculine (*der* Druck).
I was thinking about VDD for *Druckdifferenz* but *v*entrikuläre or *v*alvuläre Druckdifferenz (conclusive with the second degree tricuspid regurgitation mentioned in the text) is hardly in use.
A diastolic left ventricular wall thickness (*v*entrikuläre *d*iastolische Wand*d*icke) of 30 mm (not mmHg) would also be a more than massive finding.
The only thing I could think of as a *slightly* increased hemodynamic parameter is pulmonary arterial pressure (normal range below 25 mmHg); but the abbreviation for this would be PAP not VDD. So a typo or transcription error seems unlikely.
So, I have to admit that I cannot provide an operational and conclusive answer. Perhaps my thoughts can help to initiate/elucidate/confirm ideas or considerations others may have in mind.
