German to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical: Dentistry / Dental Models
German term or phrase: patientenanalog
"Alle Modelle sollten patientenanalog in einen Artikulator montiert werden (Abb. A und B). Dazu ist es notwendig, dass für die Montage ein möglichst reaktionsfreies Material verwendet wird."

After all the horrible scissors stuff, I'm back on more familiar ground with a text on dental models. But I'm having real trouble, not with an obscure dental term (so far!), but the positively ghastly adverb, "patientenanalog". My current draft is "All models should be mounted in an articulator so that they match the patient (Figs. A and B)." Not 100% happy with that however, although some sort of rephrase is certainly needed. TIA for your help.

I ended up using this one (which at least had a reference), but I'm still far from sure about it. Peer comments really could have helped in this instance, but never mind. "Patient-specific characteristics" sounded OK too. But don't add this to the glossary, because it's not really resolved, and the actual meaning of this atrocious adverb is still far from clear. Thanks anyway for your attempts to wrestle some sense out of it.
