German to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical: Health Care / Medical invoice
German term or phrase: Privatliquidation
Hello!

Not sure how to translate the phrase "Privatliquidation". It appears by itself as a heading in a German (Frankfurt) medical invoice. Perhaps, "Bill to Private Health Insurance"?

My understanding is that payment is expected from a private insurance carrier rather than from the state insurance plan.

Many thanks!

private medical bill
Explanation:
This is a straightforward private medical bill. In Germany a Privatliquidation or Privatrechnung is issued to patients who are either not covered by a German statutory health insurance (irrespective of whether they have private health insurance cover or not) or have failed to present their health insurance card in due time or who do not fall under the German employment system and/or health insurance system at all (such as visitors to Germany, Nato soldiers stationed in Germany etc).

I speak from experience, having been an employee with a medical bill processing organisation before becoming a freelancer.

Privatliquidation

Was bedeutet Privatliquidation?
