Sorry that my question posting was rather terse. My commission is the external (patient-facing) paperwork that a hospital sends to confirm an appointment for "Infiltration", & c. Sample sentences:
Wir haben Sie am xxxtag um yy Uhr im Infiltrationsraum neben dem Röntgen vorgemerkt.
Wir machen Sie darauf aufmerksam, dass nach Infiltrationen in die Wirbelsäule die Fahrtauglichkeit beeinträchtigt sein kann.
The fact that the injection/infusion goes into the spinal column is certainly important here: it's not a spinal *tap* but some comparable procedure.
I do not have the internal paperwork, or the diagnostic context.
A final note: I'm the proofreader on the project, rather than the translator! With my limited medical knowledge, I would never have taken the job as translator, but it seems that the colleague who took that stage of the job from the agency doesn't know very much more than me.
Thus: what would be the patient-facing, non-specialist English term for this procedure? I'm beginning to lean toward "spinal infusion" - but all I really know is that a British hospital would never invite a patient to come along for an "infiltration", it sounds too Orwellian! |
