German to English translations [PRO] Medical: Pharmaceuticals
German term or phrase:Bullenspalthälse, Bullenspalt
Testing of collagen sheets and algae sheets used in spa facials.
Context: “Bullenspalthälse (gewolft / UV 8822)”
This is one of the samples incinerated in a "Gesamtaschgehaltsbestimmung." The other samples include Rohstoffe, alginate pellets and several of the above-mentioned sheet products.
I've found "bull split" for "Bullenspalt," although only as an English translation for the German term and unconfirmed by an English-language Google search. Would a "bull split" be bovine derma? Bovine skin and tendons are currently being used to manufacture collagen sheets, according to online descriptions.
Not sure this is any help but bull split and lower split are used in leather production, the splitting of the hide into different 'splits'. Presumably, same terminology could be used for blocks of collagen sheets, hence simply lower split and upper split?
