German to English translations [PRO] Medical / Drug testing 

German term or phrase: F, p  I am translating an information sheet about an investigation into a new drug. Under the section "Results", the observations made when testing the drug on people are described, then in brackets it says "(Varianzanalyse, Mittelwerte, statistischer Test angeben, F, p)".

 F, p  Explanation: F,p are apparently values in variance analysis equations. These symbols can be used in either language, German or English, and as such do not need to be translated.
As to what they mean, casual Web searches will show some not so simple examples of how they are defined in context(s). But – speaking for myself as a *** NON!!!*** mathematician – that doesn’t necessarily mean a nonmath reader like me will understand what they really mean; e.g.:

Yes, generally I do leave abbreviations that I do not understand, and hope for the best, because I have noticed, in the past, from answers to other people's Kudoz questions, that they usually are international abbreviations.
