Medical / Applying Plaster Casts
German term or phrase: Axelhöhle
Talking about where to apply a cast:

"Von den Fingerspitzen bis in die Axelhöhle (distal-proximal)"

What on earth is the Axelhöhle? I can't find this word anywhere! Not even the Roche has it! And I get no hits for "axel cavity" or "axel hollow". So I'm totally baffled. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you very much Cristina! Seems like whoever wrote this can't spell! Next time I come across a word that starts with "Axel", I'll be sure to look up "Achsel-". Anyway, thanks heaps once again.
