German to English translations [PRO] Medical / Bioburden Testing
German term or phrase:Extraktionsansatz
"Falls von einer Charge mehr als 5 Prüfmuster untersucht werden sollen, werden die Extraktionsvolumina oder die Zahl der Extraktionsansätze entsprechend angepasst und die Extrakte zu einer homogenen Prüflösung je Charge vereinigt."
This involves bioburden testing for a pharmaceutical product.
I am having trouble in deciding what to call the "Ansatz" part of the word. My "prime suspects" are "formula", "mixture" or maybe even "batch" (though that clashes with Charge), but would like to be more certain. TIA for your help.

Explanation: If more than 5 test samples are taken for a single batch, the extracted volumes or number of extractions must be adjusted accordingly and then combined to produce a homogeneous sample solution.
