This is from a text about an electronic implant locating device.

I was really hoping my dental dictionary would have "Einbringpfosten", but alas no. A monolingual search for the phrase turned up only five sites, and in one of them the word was put in inverted commas, suggesting it's not a commonly used term.

Which doesn't really help me very much, as I have no idea what to call the wretched thing. Don't suppose anyone here would have an idea? I need to get this job off in an hour or thereabouts, so please, if you've got any reasonable hunches, please share them! TIA for your help.

"Pfosten" usually means "post" in dentistry, but "insertion pin" or "insertion post" should work here. I did a monolingual German search in the hope of finding a bilingual site, and used Yahoo, which admittedly is sometimes not as good as Google. Anyway, thanks very much for your assistance. Appreciate your help.
