|German term or phrase: Braunüle|
|This word appears in a table about pre and post-operative care with the endoscopic fitting or insertion of an enteral tube system. It comes under the pre-operative heading. The word appears by itself in the table. I guess it's brown something, but what???|
Nono, it's not brown! To my knowledge, this is a 'Kanüle' made by Braun of Melsungen (near Kassel) in Germany, thus the name. Thus, AFAIK there is no direct translation available and my best attempt can be seen above! Maybe an alternative is 'enteral needle'? The links below refer to the translation of 'Kanüle'.

addendum: why not cannula, canula or tube?
Again, I know nothing about medicine, but my Reuter & Reuter Medizinisches Wörterbuch does not say needle, but rather cannula, canuls or tube.
