Chiroscience Group plc today announces the initiation of a Phase I study on D4418, an oral phosphodiesterase (PDE) type IV inhibitor being developed to treat asthma. This double blind, placebo controlled study in healthy male volunteers will assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of D4418 following administration of ascending single oral doses. In addition, the study will investigate the effects of D4418 on plasma levels of key asthma inflammatory mediators.
