Ultrasound transducer Explanation: You're right, all three terms seem to refer to pretty much the same thing, with the only exception that the last one is spherical. Note, however, that while German does tend to use Schallkopf, what is really being referred to is ULTRASOUND. A few years back, I did a number of translations of manuals for medical ultrasound devices; they often referred to the Schallkopf as an ultrasound transducer.
