German term or phrase: hochsitzend
Hallo ProZ-Profis,

upper
Explanation:
I suspect that hochsitzend and tiefsitzend refer to the location in the upper and lower abdomen or intestine.

Vomiting. Small-bowel obstructions usually cause vomiting. The vomit is usually green if the obstruction is in the upper small intestine and brown if it is in the lower small intestine.

disagree  Harald Moelzer (medical-translator): 'proximal' means closer (as opposed to distal) - it does not fit the context here... http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=9283
