I do agree the number of ghits is no criterion for universal acceptance. There are grey areas where the original term as well as the English translation is used frequently.As such a ban cannot be imposed

disagree  SJLD: no, not used in English/English written by German authors. Always check with Google books - native English authors. You can tell usually by the name and where the author works, country of publication. Mere n° of ghits not reliable proof.

disagree  uyuni: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term=serometra As SJLD already pointed out: Medline search retrieves two hits for *serometra*, both of which are non-native (German authors).
