agree  Ioana Claudia Popa, DMD, PhD: I think "tracheal" should also be added to "bifurcation", in order to exclude any missunderstandings. Other than that, I also think that "bifurcation" is the exact translation for "Aufteilungsstelle".

neutral  Anne Schulz: Die Carina ist, streng genommen, eigentlich nur der Grat an der Aufzweigungsstelle.

  -> Ja , the *ridge*... der Grat an sich ist aber die eigentliche Lokalisation (Aufteilungs*stelle*) der Bifurkation, sozusagen die Wasserscheide der bronchopulmonalen Ventilation. Meine aber auch, dass Susannes Vorschlag für den O-Text vielleicht besser ist.
