German to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general)
German term or phrase: Langfingerbereich
'Linksseitig sieht man auch eine Daumenposition, welche sehr viel ausgeprägter nach palmarseitig gelegen ist, im Gegensatz zur rechten Seite. Therapeutisch ist das Flexionsdefizit im MP- und LANGFINGERBEREICH wegen den Intrinsics mittels konservativer Therapie zu erreichen.'

The only thing I can find on 'Langfinger' is in reference to thieves. I think if I put 'long finger area' in English, it would sound terrible and obviously have no medical accuracy. I don't think that would be accurate in any context. Please help.

phalangeal area

Explanation:
I think that the long-finger-area could be named "phalangeal area", for the long fingers consist of phalanges. Hope this helps!

neutral  SJLD: the thumb has phalanges too

-> Yes, I know. But MP doesn't refer to the thumb though, it is the abbreviation for metacarpo/metatarso-phalangeal (MP) joint or area. Therefore, this sentence doesn't refer specifically to the thumb, it talks about finger-joints in general.
