Medical - Medical (general) / Shoulder Treatment Device
German term or phrase: funktionell adaptiert
"Das ABC-system eignet sich zur ***funktionell adaptierten*** Versorgung von Trümmerfrakturen des Humeruskopfes."

From a text about some sort of device for treating severe shoulder injuries. "Functionally adapted" gets a number of Google hits, but an awful lot (too many for my liking) are on German, Austrian or Swiss sites.

TIA for helping me come up with a more natural English alternative.

functionally adaptive
Explanation:
I think the reason you did not find many English sites to verify your choice is because you used adapted instead of adaptive. There are many references to functionally adaptive on English, AE, etc. websites

Thanks Gisela - and the peer graders too. I guess the "adaptiert" part (which normally means "adaptED") misled me. Functionally adaptive sounds quite good, so I'll go with it. Thanks again for your assistance - much appreciated.
