Medical - Medical (general) / Shoulder Treatment Device
German term or phrase: Probereposition
"Die Prothese ist zugleich Probeprothese, sodaß nach ***Probereposition*** einer vorläufigen Einstellung Länge, Offset und Rotation nachjustiert werden können.

Durch Zahlreiche Befestigungspunkte am Prothesenkörper können die knöchernen Teile der Rotatorenmanschette in anatomischer Position stabil und ohne Kompromittierung der Restdurchblutung übungsstabil befestigt werden."

From a text about a device for treating severe shoulding injuries (humeral fractures etc.). I don't understand what they're saying with "Probereposition". Does it mean "repositioning of the trial prosthesis" or "test/trial repositioning"? TIA for helping me clear this up.

Trial repositioning/trial fitting
Explanation:
The way I understand it, the prosthesis allows for various adjustments, and when they do the initial adjustment/fitting and then try it out, it can be adjusted from the initial adjustment if is not the correct fit/position. I would almost prefer calling it a trial fitting.

trial repositioning of a temporary setting is the meaning here. The way I understand it, they make the temporary adjustment based on whatever information they have to make it with, try it out on the patient to see if it fits properly, and if needed, make another adjustment. I don\'t understand why they used \"reposition\", since that would imply that it was changed from an earlier setting and the remainder of the sentence states that it is a trial positioning /fitting of a temporary or initial setting.

Thanks Gisela. Seeing as "reposition" is used, I think I'll call it "trial repositioning". Trial fitting isn't bad either though. Thanks also to the peer graders for their input.
