German to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical (general) / brain tumor
German term or phrase:zentrale Facialisparese der rechten Seite
translation: unilateral facial nerve paresis of the right hand side.
I take it "central" here means "unilateral/only one sided" and doesn`t refer to the middle of the face. Because otherwise I don`t see how something can be central and on on the right hand side at the same time.
So does this mean that the writer is referring to the right side of the central part of the face? It could fit. I cannot see how 'zentrale' can be translated as 'unilateral'. It does, however, mean 'acting on the central nervous system' (cf. Bunjes).
Explanation: I am not quite sure what is meant by 'zentrale' here, either. The only possible answer that comes to mind is that it refers to a central nervous system complication, affecting the right facial nerve and causing paresis.
