Tech/Engineering - Metallurgy / Casting / coking plants | | German term or phrase: auf der Maschinen- und Koksseite angeordnete Koksofentüren | I have problems with VDI guideline 4285 (Determination of diffusive emissions by measurements) again. I am translating from the English translation, and the English translation sounds strange.
The phrase has been translated as "coke-oven doors arranged on the side of the machine and of the coke"
The discussion is about emptying of coke ovens.

Der Verkokungsvorgang ist nach einer Garungszeit
von etwa 14 h bis 30 h (je nach Koksofenabmessungen
und Temperaturbedingungen) abgeschlossen.
Nach dieser Zeit werden die auf der Maschinen- und
Koksseite angeordneten Koksofentüren abgezogen
und der heiße Koks mit einer Temperatur von etwa
1100 °C mittels einer Druckmaschine aus dem Koksofen
in den Löschwagen gedrückt. Der heiße Koks
wird entweder unter einem Löschturm mit Wasser
gelöscht oder einer Kokstrockenkühlanlage zugeführt,
in der die Wärme zur Energieerzeugung genutzt

Since the oven has two sides, I think it's reasonable to assume that the German "Maschinenseite" must be the same as the EPA's "push side." |
