German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Metallurgy / Casting
German term or phrase: Vorgold
Sorry, not much reference.
"Vorgold Produktion" is one of the productions listed on a PowerPoint slide titled "Nachweisgrenzen für einige Metalle in wässrigen Lösungen"

pre-gold
Explanation:
"Vorgold" appears to be a product used to prepare surfaces for gold-plating, a little like an undercoat in painting. "Vorsilber" exists as well. Literal, but nonetheless seemingly well-used English translations for these terms are "pre-gold" and "pre-silver" respectively.

The term is used by Atotech, a manufacturer of "Vorgold" products. See:

primary gold

Explanation:

NEW TRY = STRIKE (BATH) GOLD
Since Vorgalvanisierbad is strike bath, I search for [strike bath gold] which seems to be the bath prior to the gold-plating bath. Sometimes, besides pre-plating gold, the term strike gold is used as well.
