The advantages of investment casting in the 1970s are being discussed and the quote is "Der Konstrukteur eines Bauteiles kann seine Konstruktionsteile weitgehend nach funktionellen Gesichtspunkten entwickeln. Sogar Hinscheidungen und komplizierte Stege können einwandfrei gegossen werden."
I presume 'Stege' are crosspieces or bars, but 'Hinscheidungen'?? Could it have something to do with parts separting in some way?

Explanation:
Follwing on from the discussion section, it does indeed seem most likely that this is a typo for "Hinterschneidungen" - undercuts.

(This term occurs frequently in patents and I've often seen the typo "Hinterscheidung", without the "n", but never "Hinscheidung"!)
