German term or phrase: Luftschnur
This is from a list of terms relating to foundry procedures. Adjacent terms include Kühlkokillen (cooling moulds?) Speiser (Feeder) Eingussrohre and Filter. Something like 'air vent' ?

Explanation:
The product safety sheet on http://www.tressa.ch/English/E_Zertifikate/Sicherheitsdatenb... just calls it "Flexan foundry core vent" but this seems to be the generic term for all core vents. On page 165 of http://books.google.de/books?id=BXqVDRHW-ocC&pg=PA165&lpg=PA... they talk about venting ropes or strings - and, after having googled these two, I'd prefer rope.
