necking at fracture

Explanation:
performing a tensile test, when the specimen's cross section area is decreasing (known as Necking) and necking down is a "Reduction in area concentrated at the subsequent location of fracture when a ductile metal is stressed beyond its yield point in tension".
It depends on the properties of materials.
