German to English translations [PRO] Military / Defense / Military Terminology | | German term or phrase: angepasste Verschiebung | From a Swiss Army work reference
Verantwortlich im abgesessenen Einsatz (der Füsiliere) für die gefechtstechnisch angepasste Verschiebung des Rad Spz 93.
From my previous post I know this is referring to the action of the armoured fighting vehicle during dismounted deployment of infantry. But what precisely does angepasste Verschiebung mean here? Is it something to do with giving covering fire during action? |
| | Clarification request(s) and responseArmorel Young: 1:31pm Jun 29, 2006: Don't forget that angepasst goes with gefechtstechnisch - I can't picture what is being described, but it is a Verschiebung that is adapted for the military/technical requirements Jonathan MacKerron: 1:40pm Jun 29, 2006: any idea what a Rad Spz 93 is? Jonathan MacKerron: 1:43pm Jun 29, 2006: sorry, I assume it's the fighting vehicle you alluded to in your explanation Shane London: 1:53pm Jun 29, 2006: Yes. the Rad Spz 93 is a wheeled armoured fighting vehicle. There's a webpage somewhere with Rad Spz (APC) 93 on it.
Actually, strategic sounds good for 'angepasste'.
Oliver Walter: 1:57pm Jun 29, 2006: I think a Rad Spz is a Radschützenpanzer = armoured personnel carrier (wheeled, not tracked):
