German to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Music / opera | | German term or phrase: aussergewoehnlichen Kulisse | This is from a company's promotional event at an opera house
Listed among the evening of events for the evening:
-"Apres Theatre-Buffet" in der aussergewoehnlichen Kulisse des Opernhauses
I have an idea what this would refer to, but was ultimately still a little unsure
Not a big "Opernfreund," I'm afraid...
Thanks. |
| | | literally "extraordinary backdrop" | Explanation: but that would tend to suggest that they were eating in front of the opera house. I'd tend to use something like
an apres theater buffet - in the extraordinary ambiance of the opera house

| Note from asker to answererThe reason that I asked this question was because I had interpreted it much as Writeaway had. However, I'm tending to believe that the author was merely trying to be "cute" and you are ultimately right.
