day-home teacher Explanation: A variation. "day-home" is British, "day-school" woulkd be more American, though there it is often also called a nursery school. The terms are used interchangably, where day-home appears to be a little less formal than a nursery school. child minder (in a children's home) Explanation: A Hort caters also for older children, certainly for children at school age who can't go home after school because their parents are still at work. Nursery nurse would not do. Anita |
