Simplicissimus, but it's a proper name Explanation: In fact, Simplicissimus was not anauthor of the German Baroque period, but rather a creation of Hans Jacob Christoph von Grimmelshausen. Spelled Simplicissimus in original editions (it's Latin). Wonderful stuff . . . Duennhaupt, Bibliographisches Handbuch der Barockliteratur (Hiersemann). |
