STASI files Explanation: STASI was the "STAatsSIcherheit" of the former GDR. Kohl stopped his files being published by court order (something practically nobody else has done or is allowed to do!) |

maybe it helps Explanation: Try a search on google (by setting your preferences on German) for Stasi + Kohl. You will get lots of hits. From what I've seen in a few minutes it was about publishing Stasi files about some persons (maybe puyblic persons) and Kohl had something to do with it by giving a law for making stasi files public. I think it could have been also about making public ome stasi files about kohl. anyway, I don't have too much time to read in detail all that's been written. For more details try that search. 2. www.ftd.de/pw/de/FTDAL0GKQOC.html?nv=rs |

information about him in the files of the (East German) Ministry for State Security (secret police) Explanation: Stasi files is the easiest expression, but if your audience needs a better explanation, you might use this wordier version. |
