German term or phrase: Weisungsbefugnis
The last query for today! When discussing temporary work, they describe it as:
"...die befristete Ueberlassung von Arbeitnehmern, wobei de Weisungsbefugnis gegnueber dem Mitarbeiter beim Kunden liegt."
This word "Weisungsbefugnis" has me a bit stumped. Any ideas how to render it?
Thanks in advance
authority to issue directives/instructions/directions
"Weisung" = directive, instruction, direction
"Befugnis" = authority to do something
In this case "authority to instruct" migth be best: "... the customer has the authority to instruct the employee."
In some cases "Weisungsbefugnis" can be much stronger than just the authority to instruct (e.g. including legal issues).

Yes, I agree with your suggestion. "Issuing directives" isn't the right register in this context.
Thanks once again
