"Für ihr langjähriges Engagement wurde sie 1988 mit dem Bundesehrenzeichen des Bundes ausgezeichnet."

"Medal of Honour" is usually military. This is a commercial award. Plain old "federal decoration" seems a little bit thin.

Explanation:
I think that like the Order of the British Empire or the Légion d'Honneur, this should remain untranslated, with an English explanation if necessary.

It's two words, and it's a small trophy rather than a medal, though you are allowed to wear a miniature version.
