Explanation:
It is a rather literal translation, but I can't see what's wrong with it. I am from Scotland where we have a Highland and a Lowland, and Lowland means just this: geographically low down, near sea level. No steep mountains rise around the bays at the coast, the bays are flat and spread out. Not like Norwegian Fjords, for example.

Explanation:
instead of translating Tieflandsbucht literary (I haven't found a translation for it) I think I would just translate it as a bay typical of those that reach/spread far inland.
