entire parts of town consist of half-timbered buildings Explanation: My suggestion is based on the assumption, that parts of Wetzlar, maybe the centre, has many "Fachwerkhaeuser", if it is just the centre, change "entire parts of town" to "the entire city centre". |

with rows of timber-framed houses Explanation: Fachwerk can be translated with half- timber or lattice work. Since the timber is visible (diagonnally, horizontally or vertically) I would say timber-framed houses. And 'geschlossener Bestand means probably remaining rows of houses. |
