"The invention relates to a tool for holding down and/or tightening objects by means of a movable tightening part e.g. a screw clamp, which is intended to provisionally hold plates or suchlike firm.
"In the case of a screw clamp, for example the clamp would form a counterbearing to the movable, tightening element, which can be adjusted, in a thread-like manner, to the other (screw) clamp……….
"A common disadvantage of both screw and rapid screw clamps is that that they can't be stretched against a surface, e.g. a tiled wall, since – in this case – the tool cannot embrace the surface against which an appropriate object must be pressed or stretched……
To improve the tool's mobility and alignment, a plate - into which a bearing neck of the movable tightening element could be inserted - might be envisaged as the holding element, enabling the tightening element to be easily attached to – or detached from the plate. To secure the (Steckposition) it might be necessary to protect the (Lage) position by means of a screw that penetrates the bearing sleeve and (eingreift in eine Nut des Lagerzapfens) in a nut of the bearing neck."
