German term or phrase: Verwertungspartner
hi,
any other takes on "Verwertungspartner" - in the context of inventions created by universities that are then patented and licensed worldwide...

"Die Verwertungspartner in Nordamerika und Europa tragen dazu bei..."

etc.

Have so far come up with "Exploitation partners"

thx

Clarification request(s) and response
Marc Heinitz: 7:30pm Feb 28, 2007: thx but... - looks like the proper term here is indeed:

Patent Exploitation Agency

http://www.innovating-regions.org/schemes/scheme.cfm?publica...

exploitation is used in patent law (apparently) and IP (intellectual property) rights not as "Ausbeutung" but as "Verwertung"...

looks like my hunch was right....

commercial exploitation partner
Explanation:
The proceeds from the commercial exploitation of your invention flow back to the research institution where you are employed, assuming that is, that your employer has not released the invention.

If you are self employed, or your employer has released your invention, you are free to choose your commercial exploitation partner. Talk to us to find out how we can help.

The partner with the rights of usage

Explanation:
Es geht nicht um Ausbeutung, sondern um die Nutzung von Markenrechten...

Could be also "the partner with the utilisation rights"...

neutral Kim Metzger: Exploitation is Ausbeutung in a social context, but in an intellectual property context and in mining it is Verwertung.
