German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Patents
German term or phrase: unter 45° angestellt
Kontext:
Bei weiterer vorteilhafter Ausgestaltung der Erfindung wird vorgesehen, dass die der Symmetrieebene abgewandte Fläche der Erhebung gegenüber der Schenkelmittelfläche zwischen zwei Erhebungen ###unter 45° angestellt### ist.

Ich verstehe schon im Deutschen die genaue Bedeutung von "anstellen unter" nicht, kann es folglich also auch nicht übersetzen ;-)

Kann mir hier jmd. helfen?

Vorab vielen Dank!

arranged at an angle of 45°

Explanation:
I think it is just a rather unusual way of saying "arranged or aligned at an angle of 45° in relation to", in the same way that "unter einem Winkel" is used in this patent:

Um ein Dämmstoffelement (2) für die Wärme- und/oder Schalldämmung von zwei unter einem Winkel ß≠0° zueinander ausgerichteten Gebäudeflächen bereitzustellen
In order to provide an insulating material element (2) for insulating two building surfaces aligned at an angle of ß≠0° to each other

The claims of what I presume to be your patent have already been translated into English and French. The English translator uses simply "is at 45°" and the French translator uses "est agencée selon un angle de 45°", where "agencée" means arranged.

die der Symmetrieebene (10) abgewandte Fläche (23) der Erhebung (12, 13, 14) gegenüber der Schenkelmittelfläche (24) zwischen zwei Erhebungen (12, 13; 13, 14) unter 45° angestellt ist.
the surface (23) of the raised portion (12, 13, 14), that is remote from the plane of symmetry (10), is at 45° with respect to the limb central surface (24) between two raised portions (12, 13; 13, 14).
la surface (23) opposée au plan (10) de symétrie de la saillie (12, 13, 14) est agencée selon un angle de 45 ° par rapport à la surface centrale (24) des branches entre deux saillies.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hallo Alison, vielen Dank für den Hinweis auf die bestehende Übersetzung. Leider ist die Übersetzung an vielen Stellen terminologisch und inhaltlich falsch/verzerrt, so dass sie nun überarbeitet wird ;-) Viele Grüße, susaphon

set under an angle of 45°

Explanation:
In the previous suggestions I don't see "at" as capturing the real meaning of "under". But "set under an angle of *" will get you 540 hits at Google. On the first page of results you can read "The hull is set under an angle of 2°...", "...and set under an angle of 30 degrees" and "...the cars ran with wings, set under an angle of 90 degrees..."
