German term or phrase: Mobilität. Immer und überall.

Dieser Slogan soll in einer englischen und deutschen Version für eine neue Firma eingeführt werden. Ich würde "Immer und überall" mit "Wherever, Whenever" übersetzen (Habe einen ähnlichen Slogan mit dieser Übersetzung schon mal gesehen). Wie wirkt das auf Englisch? Ist es anders besser?

Non-ProZ.com (asker): 8:50am Oct 3, 2005: Zur Klärung von "Mobilität": Es handelt sich um eine Firma, die Tankstellen baut und wartet. Die Firma sorgt also für Mobilität.
"whenever, wherever" deshalb, weil's nur 2 Wörter sind und meinem Gefühl nach einprägsamer ist. Aber ich bin auch kein Native...

Guter Ansatz, der mir gefällt. Problem ist nur, dass wir nicht die Tankstellenbetreiber mobil machen, sondern deren Kunden. Also eher "Keeping your customers mobile". Nur das ist meiner Meinung nach schwer ins Deutsche zurück zu übersetzten.

BrigitteHilgner: 12:05pm Oct 3, 2005: Warum zurück übersetzen? Übersetzungen dienen der Kommunikation, und das kann bedeuten, dass ich in einer Sprache eine ganz andere Formulierung wähle als in einer anderen. Es kommt auf den Sinn an. -

Hilary Davies: 4:49am Oct 4, 2005: The problem with Wherever, whenever, is that it's a song (isnt everything ;-)). "Wherever, whenever, we're meant to be together, i'll be there and you'll be near, and that's the deal my deal" (Shakira). At least, that's what I think of when i hear it! ;-) -

I'd say "Mobility - any time and anywhere"

(I think "any time, anywhere" actually sounds better but it calls to me that awful slogan "any time, any place and anywhere" - while we're at it, what's the difference between "any place" and "anywhere" !!!)

I always think mobility is used too often to mean anything much (hackneyed carriage? ;-) Mobile is handy, but it means telephone.

Just another take, trying to sell the idea.

Brigitte correctly reminds you that you should NOT need to retranslate this. Despite the fact that it strikes me as being a somewhat pedestrian headline anyway, you may care to think outside the box and consider leaving it in German, as others have with very great success. (e.g. "Vorsprung durch Technik", "Aus Liebe zum Automobil").

Keeping you on the move... Not the greatest suggestions, I know, but to get a decent slogan in English you might have to rewrite it, if you can. Mind you, the German slogan isn't all that original....
