Es nervt mich sehr, daß im vulgären Sprachgebrauch Webers Begriff der "Gesinnungsethik" meist in abfälliger Weise zur Bezeichnung einer Haltung diskreditiert wird, die sich vor politischer Verantwortung drückt, und daß umgekehrt mit "Verantwortungsethik" so ziemlich jedes politische Verbrechen mit einer gefälligen Patina geadelt wird. So weit meine Meinung.

agree Paul Cohen: Since we are talking about Reform Judaism, conviction (as in one's own religious convictions) is a logical choice.

Gesinnungsethik = die: Moralphilosophie, die die sittliche Qualität einer Handlung allein bzw. primär nach der ihr zugrunde liegenden Gesinnung, d.h. nach dem subjektiven Wissen u. Wollen des handelnden Individuums bemisst: "Im Gegensatz zu Frankreich wird in Deutschland das Problem des von Zuwanderern (=aus moslemischen Ländern) eingeführten Fundamentalismus durch eine Kombination aus deutscher Fremdenfeindlichkeit und deutscher G. kompliziert" (Spiegel5, 1993, 127).
